This matters because people often replace a hot converter and then watch the new one get hot too. Before you order anything, compare the inlet and outlet temperatures with an infrared thermometer. If the inlet is hot and the outlet is much cooler at steady speed, the substrate may be clogged. But don't make that call from one reading. Drive for a few minutes at a constant load and watch the trend.
